Why Frontier never fixing bug and all the frustration come with that.

Sorry, but I am french, I don't speak english very well. I am come here to understand why I can't scan a Megaship for doing my weekly power-play assignement.
I looking for a megaship in an acquisition system, I am going to scan it, and I have an error like "already openned".

Yes, the past week, I surely already have an assignement to scan megaship in aquisition systems, and I have surely already scan this one, If I can remember.
This his crazy, I need to found each week, new megaships to scan ? There was an issue about that. here : https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/50643

Having the same issue but with powerplay weekly missions, I scan megaships, they don't apply to the weekly check. Seems like this has been broken for ages in a magnitude of ways, missions, powerplay, data. But it can be fixed.

Sorry, as we say in french "c'est la goutte d'eau qui fait déborder le vase". I love Elite Dangerous, but I am going to play another games. To much frustration doing stupid things. I have no problem whith loosing in video game when the game is fair. But, when you dispense your time failling task because dev are unable to fix bugs from age ....

Each megaship can only be scanned once per step on its journey, but they move once every two weeks so you can't necessarily scan the same one twice in consecutive weeks. This isn't itself a bug.

50643 is a bug because the mission generator doesn't take into account which ships are eligible, so can give you missions you can't possibly complete (but another player could)

The Powerplay task I don't think is a bug (it's not sending you to scan any specific megaships that you might not be able to scan) but it is a particularly tedious task - especially in the Acquisition form - that would benefit from asking for 2-3 scans rather than 10-12.

OK thanks. But that's if this is not a bug, this not fun and why this is not explain in the mission description ? You need to maintain an excel file somewhere to report all your megaship scan, their travel path for determining those can be scanned ? This is not for me. 😐

You get the megaships flightplan as a message if you scan it.
Just don't delete this message and you know where it will be and if you scanned it already.

As I understand the task is not designed to be done as a task. It's a potential reward if you find 12 new megaship position and scan it in less than a week ... it's a bad idea do try to doing that as a single task. I think there is a real problem in Elite with the gameplay design. Those kind of reward need to be permanent, not assigned to a commander as a thing to do, but like an acomplishement. In my team, lot of player have abandoned those power play task because of that. Bad translation in french, and very painful to do when there are not bugged. I have a task to hack holographic ads in a system where there was only one station and where the ads never be hackable for example.
Sorry if I am angry, but you know, when you like something, you're can be easy upset when you are disappointed by it.

I imagine you know this already but just in case: after the very first week, you don't have to do any weekly tasks that you don't like. This means that the stupid ones can be totally ignored.

Yes, sure. I think there was a problem with some of the gameplay loop that can be solved. I take example of one of them like collect power security data from dataport settlement. Those data depend of randomized loot table on those dataport, and the probability is really low. You have two tactic to access those data port : stealth or brutality. The first one is more fun but need player skill and can take a lot of time. The brutality manner is more easy with a full engineered armor and weapons, but can be quickly boring. In the first case, the randomized loot table dissuade you. Lot of investment with a low chance of success. The second tactic need to find a anarchy settlement and a doing a instance reloading loop. More efficient, but no really funny and not really immersive. (reloading the instance break the immersion in the game, in my opinion).

Ok, how we can solve that ? A pledged player is an agent. Those agent can have access to the intel of the power. You need to find an other agent, or corruptible NPC, in station or settlement, maybe with chain of intel. You can asking to the bartender, if he have intel about pp agent somewhere. You can pay him for that intel. He can reveal the name of another agent or a corruptible personnel. If you go this settlement, the game know you have this intel and can just pop the npc. You can interact with, give money (maybe with a mini negotiation game) and he can reveal you a settlement that contain with 100% chance a data port with power security data. The game know you have this intel and when you go to this settlement, it can replace the randomized loot table with the data you're looking for. The stealth tactic then become more profitable.

This can be more immersive, more fun, and can work with other task. In Elite, the game push always player in boring repetitive farming gameplay loop. Ok, you cannot really avoid that, but I think we need alternatives way more funny to do.
